The liver does a tremendous amount of work in the body. It has many jobs: produces the bile, digests the foods, gets rid of toxins and making proteins to help blood clot.

Detoxification is the most important function of the liver. It is the body’s gatekeeper because it absorbs and filters the harmful toxin and waste while retaining the nutrients the body needs. Toxins and chemicals include infections, environmental toxins and alcohol and poor diet.
The chemicals include cigarette smoke, benzene, xylene, disinfectants, heavy metals, and pesticides.
Infections from pathogens, parasites, flukes and protozoa, viruses especially hepatitis and Lyme and mold will cause inflammation and damage the liver as well.

Alcohol and poor diet will damage the liver. The nutrients depleted by alcohol are glutathione, sulfur and methylation, riboflavin, B6 and folate and B12.

Poor insulin signaling and processed foods toxic additives, preservatives, pesticides, GMO will affect our nutrients and cause absorption issues.

Support a lifestyle that includes reduces toxic exposure and builds immunity.
